Welcome to MTEC, a non-profit organization founded to increase the number of quality teachers in Milwaukee. MTEC offers an alternative teacher certification program for those interested in education, and professional development workshops and advanced study opportunities for current teachers.

  • July 7, 2008 MTEC Moves Its Office
    On July 8 - 9th the MTEC office will move to the new Professional Development Center located on the 3rd floor of the Marshall Campus (4141 N. 64th St.). MTEC's new phone(461-2500) and fax (461-2515) will be connected on or about June 15th.
  • May 9, 2008 Enroll now for the AmeriCorps class of 08 - 09
    AmeriCorps members can earn an education award voucher of $4725 that can be applied to existing education loans or can be held for up to seven years and applied to future education loans. AmeriCorps members (teachers) must complete 1700 hours of service and training (regular teaching day, planning and prep time, meetings, seminars, classes, service activities, etc.) during the nine months of service.
